  2. SYMPTOMS include difficulty standing and walking and sudden and severe lower
  3. back pain.
  4. CAUSES for acute pain may be from falling, lifting heavy objects, bending
  5. over, shoveling or other similar activity. Chronic pain could be causes by
  6. lack of exercise, osteoarthritis of the spine, poor posture, obesity, etc.
  7. TREATMENT. Warm moist packs, rest on a firm mattress.
  8. .Improvement of posture, wearing a corset, weight reduction and exercise.
